About Jumpman Forever

If you’re not familiar with the original Jumpman games – hey, that’s OK.  There’s no advanced plotline you need to know to get into the games – I’ll boil it down for you really quickly.  If you really, really want to know more about the original game, just take a look in the History of Jumpman section of the site, and we’ll hook ya’ up with more than you ever wanted to know!

Jumpman Forever Core_131See this guy?  He’s Jumpman.  Sure, I’m certain that’s not his given name, but it’s the monicker he was given 30 years ago when he went up again the Alienators – a group bent on destroying Jupiter Station using bombs, tricks, and traps.  Now, he’s called Jumpman because of a those cool things on his feet – a set of Jumpboots that let him hit heights no human can do without assistance.  OK, so, he can jump about as high as he is tall.  We’re not talking Mario here.  But he makes great use of those boots while defusing the Alienator bombs planted around Jupiter Station.  Yep, after 30 years they’re still holding some sort of grudge, and are back to their old tricks.  So he’s out of retirement, and has donned his Jumpboots and spacesuit again to take them on.

Jumpman Forever Core_130But this time, they’re not stopping with Jupiter Station – so far, Jupiter Station, Saturn Station, Deimos Station, And Tethys Base are all under attack!  (Quick pop quiz: do you know what planets the moon Deimos and the moon Tethys orbit?  Don’t worry, we had to look it up on a map, too!)  And they’re not just harassing Jumpman. Meet Red – she’s your run of the mill genius level starship mechanic.  Sure, disarming bombs aren’t really her thing, but with a working knowledge of electronics, warp mechanics, and quantum physics, she can work her way through a situation.  What does she have to do with this?  Well, while Jumpman is answering the call to rescue Jupiter Station, she’s stuck on Saturn Station while it’s under attack!  Fortunately, she’s somewhat of an bad ass in her own right – think of her as a female John McClane, and with long red hair.  And she’s managed to snag a set of prototype Jumpboots to give her and edge that even Jumpman doesn’t have – a double boost of power that gets her even higher!  Of course, she doesn’t have the tools Jumpman has, nor the space suit.  Bummer.

Jumpman Forever is the modern sequel to the 1983 classic video game Jumpman for the Atari 400 / 800 & Commodore 64 computers.  Every effort has been made to keep the original gameplay style, clunky 80′s style graphics, and amazing level design!  Jumpman Forever features:

  • 32 Levels
  • 4 Game Modes
  • 2 Playable Characters
  • Mind-bending action puzzles
  • And more ways to die than you can shake a stick at

But we’re not stopping there.  Every quarter, we’re releasing another free Jumpman Forever level pack for the next two years!  We don’t want to just create a great game and walk away – we want to create a game that keeps people playing (and hopefully keeps new people buying it!) On top of that, in mid to late 2014 we’ll be releasing the Jumpman Forever Level Editor and sharing community, letting everyone get in on the fun of creating and playing even more awesome levels!

Here’s a quick selection of levels to give you a bit more of the feel of Jumpman Forever – and be sure to check out the trailer on the front page if you haven’t already!
